About Yiruma Yiruma has had a long and illustrious career that has spanned numerous Asian countries such as South Korea, Hong Kong, and Japan. Yiruma was born in Seoul, South Korea on January 21st 1981. Yiruma is renowned for his classical crossover songs which are a mix of Western classical music and modern pop. Yiruma started playing piano at the age of seven. Yiruma’s first performance was when he was little and since then has been recognised for his musical genius. Yiruma regularly performed at venues around Seoul as well as being invited to play in Germany. Yiruma has released many albums which are mainly instrumental works. Yiruma’s first full length album Yiruma was released in 1999. Yiruma’s third album First Love is Yiruma’s most popular album to date and as of 2010 had sold over a million copies worldwide.
