Yiruma – One Day I Will Piano Sheet Music

Composer Yiruma was born in South Korea on February 15, 1978. Yiruma combined elements of classical and jazz music to create a unique style that he called New Age Piano. Yiruma is a popular artist who has won numerous awards and distinctions during his career. One of Yiruma’s most popular albums is 2001 release First Love. Yiruma composed the music and piano was Yiruma’s first released album. Yiruma graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in philosophy in 1999 and soon began his career as a New Age pianist. Yiruma studied traditional Korean music at Yonsei but switched to Western classical music in 1993 after hearing Chopin. Yiruma’s career began to take off after he won the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in 1998 and released his first album First Love. Yiruma continues to perform concerts worldwide including tours in Asia, North America, Europe and Oceania. Yiruma also has an international following as a result of his online videos on youtube. Yiruma has released many albums, including Yiruma (2001), First Love (2001), Yiruma Plays Yiruma (2004), Classics 1 (2005) and Love Scene: Yiruma with Orchestra Conducted by Mike Campbell 2 in 1 or YIRUMA CONCERT & YIRUMA PLAYS YIRUMA (2006). Yiruma is a New Age pianist who fuses classical and jazz influences. Yiruma’s music has been used in numerous film soundtracks in the U.S. Yiruma won first place at the prestigious Hamamatsu International Piano Competition when he was just 17 years old, after winning his fifth consecutive national piano competition. Yiruma was also the first South Korean to win a prize at Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Tel Aviv, Israel. Yiruma is one of the most popular Korean musicians and has performed for dignitaries such as King Jong-Il of Korea. Yiruma’s piano performance style relies on soft dynamics, creating a feeling of relaxation. Yiruma’s second album First Love was named for Yiruma’s experience with love at first sight, and this title soon became well known. Yiruma was inspired to create a piano piece that captured the emotion of joy when he met his wife Yoon, who is a violinist. Yoon’s musical talents helped inspire Yiruma, and Yoon is a featured performer in Yiruma’s album Yiruma Plays Yiruma. Yiruma has participated in numerous charity projects including the Smile for U project (2001), which raised money to help fund relief efforts following the September 11 attacks. Yiruma’s success earned him an invitation to play at the presidential inauguration in Seoul for President Roh Moo-hyun. Yiruma released Yiruma Plays Yiruma to raise money for charity and donated all proceeds from the album release to Mother’s Bridge of Love, which provides pediatric support to children in need. Yiruma won first place at the prestigious Hamamatsu International Piano Competition when he was just 17 years old, after winning his fifth consecutive national piano competition. Yiruma originally trained as a classical pianist and played in a classical duo, Yiruma and Lee Yoon-ji beginning in 1993. Yiruma was featured alongside Yoon-ji on the soundtrack for the South Korean movie The Way Home (2001), with Yoon-ji performing Yiruma’s composition “By the River”. Yiruma composed Yoon-ji’s theme song for her 2000 album Yoon Ji which was Yiruma’s first composition. Yiruma continued his collaboration with Yoon-ji and featured Yoon-ji on his album Love Scene: Yiruma with Orchestra Conducted by Mike Campbell 2 in 1 Yiruma released Yiruma Plays Yiruma to raise money for charity. Yiruma’s popularity earned him a place on the roster of Steinway & Sons as one of their “Artist Ambassadors”, joining other notable pianists including Lang Lang and Yundi Li.
