About The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is a video game made by Nintendo and released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) console in 1991. The game was re-released on the Game Boy Advance handheld system in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past & Four Swords (known as The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap in Europe and Australia) released on December 2, 2004. The game has been followed by six other games in The Legend of Zelda series with direct ties to it and its storyline.

The gameplay The The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is a 2D video game with an overhead view. The player controls Link from a top-down perspective and he must explore the overworld, which leads him to various dungeons. The objective in each dungeon is to find and defeat its boss enemy. The overworld contains several towns and other places where NPCs dwell or items can be purchased. The player progresses through the game by controlling Link and navigating him throughout Hyrule. The main antagonist is the dark wizard Agahnim as he makes his attempt to break the seal on Ganon, King of Thieves. The game takes place in Hyrule where a young boy named Link is awakened after having a nightmare of the first game The Legend of Zelda. He meets Princess Zelda who tells him that soldiers from the castle have come to destroy her father in hopes of finding a way into The Sacred Realm. The two escape and Link is introduced to Sahasrahla, an elder and one of the seven wise men. The wise man tells Link about Ganon The King of Thieves and The Dark World that he was sealed away in after The Legend of Zelda The game takes place before The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past The events at the beginning take place before The Legend of Zelda The first game. Furthermore, during a flashback scene at the beginning of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds it is revealed that The Legend of Zelda The game takes place between The Legend of Zelda The first game and The Adventure of Link The second game chronologically.
