Symphonic Rain was a popular Japanese Playstation 2 Role Playing Game in 2005. Symphonic Rain was developed by Minato Soft and published by Hirameki International Inc., who published English language versions of games such as Einhander, Popolocrois II: Pippo the Prince, Armed Dragon Fantasy Villgust Gaiden for the Playstation, and Steambot Chronicles. Symphonic Rain’s music was composed by Kow Otani who was notable for his work in the Godzilla series. Symphonic Rain also has a manga adaptation published by Enix.
Symphonic Rain – Lycéenne is one of the ten piano solos featured in Symphonic Rain. It is the solo that plays during Symphonic Rain’s main theme. Symphonic Rain – Lycéenne was composed by Kow Otani.
Symphonic Rain begins with Lycèe, a boy who lost his memories in an accident at age sixteen. A year later, he has adapted to life in an orphanage and begun to remember little things about his past. When he passes out, Symphonic Rain begins with Lycèe waking up near a lake, not knowing how he got there or anything else about himself. He wanders around town, meeting several people who help him find jobs and discover the truth behind his amnesia.
Symphonic Rain has five main characters, Symphonic Rain – Lycèe being one of them. Symphonic Rain – Lycèe is a boy with amnesia who wakes up in front of an orphanage after having several dreams about water. Symphonic Rain plays his theme song when he first meets Elis, the main heroine, Symphonic Rain – Lycèe has strong feelings for her. Symphonic Rain – Elis is an orphan with amnesia who grew up at the Symphonic Rain orphans’ shelter. Symphonic Rain plays her theme song when Symphonic Rain – Lycèe first meets Symphonic Rain – Elis. Symphonic Rain – Elis retains her memories, but Symphonic Rain mentions that Symphonic Rain – Elis has amnesia in the Symphonic Rain manga. Symphonic Rain – Tita is Symphonic Rain’s heroine with amnesia who also grew up at Symphonic Rain.
