Dr. Mario is a Super Smash Bros. Melee stage that appears in the Home-Run Contest and as a regular stage in Sudden Death of Multi-Man Mode. If Dr. Mario was originally unlocked, it is also available to be played on Stage Builder when using the Normal Super Smash Bros. Melee build (1.00).
However, Dr. Mario is not available in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS as it was replaced by Super Mario 3D World stage.
Dr. Mario’s main platform is slightly wider than the average Super Smash Bros. Melee stage, with two side platforms that extend inward and are slightly angled downward. The interior of Dr. Mario’s main platform has a unique design that vaguely resembles a pill or vitamin capsule. Super Smash Bros. Melee – Dr. Mario Piano Sheet Music
Dr. Mario’s design in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is similar to Super Smash Bros. Melee, with the biggest differences being a slightly increased width and length of its main platform, and the replacement of the two bottom-middle soft platforms with Super Mario 3D World’s flagpole. The stage is banned from tournaments for a few reasons: it has walk-off edges, strong camping spots, and the Super Jump Punch makes horizontal KOs difficult due to players being able to DI downward to survive at high percentages.
