Super Paper Mario is a platforming video game for the Nintendo Wii, with gameplay similar to Super Mario 64 and Super Paper Mario; however, it plays very differently. The main character of the story is named Mario who has four different lives called heart points. Super Paper Mario takes place in a new series called “The Pi’illo” and at some points it is revealed that Super Paper Mario takes place in the same universe as Super Mario Bros.
This game has many different themes for Super Paper Mario, “Outer Space” being one of them. The song starts out with a melody playing on the piano before the drums and bass join in. This theme plays at two very crucial parts in Super Paper Mario. The first time the song plays is when Luigi and Princess Peach are about to kiss for the first time, right before Bowser gets in the way and ruins it. The other part was when Super Dimentio broke multiple dimensions so he can become Super Dimentio Ultimate.
This theme only has one section to it which is a total of eight measures. Super Paper Mario’s “Outer Space” theme is in the key of C Major and has a time signature of 4/4. The instrumental parts are all written in treble clef, while the melody is played with both tenor and soprano clef.
This piece would be good for someone who is learning how to read music. Super Paper Mario’s “Outer Space” theme would be good for beginners due to its simple harmony and structure. Super Paper Mario has a lot of different themes; Super Paper Mario – Castle Bleck being another one that would be good for beginner pianists to learn.
