Sting was a member of The Police, one of the most popular rock bands in history. Sting has been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame as well as having won multiple Grammy Awards. Sting is also active as a solo artist as well as an actor and philanthropist.
Sting was ranked 13th in Rolling Stone magazines list of “The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.” Sting is well-known for energetic live shows as well as including jazz, classical and reggae influences in his music. Sting’s early career was mainly focused on The Police but he has since become much more active with his solo projects. Sting released his first album, “The Dream Of The Blue Turtles” which was a jazz influenced album. Sting’s next few albums were also a mix of jazz and rock which received much critical acclaim from critics as well as being commercially successful. Sting then began to focus on creating more commercial popular songs with positive lyrics, causing some to accuse Sting of selling out. Sting is currently working on his first musical called “The Last Ship” which Sting is writing and composing the music for. Sting has been nominated for sixteen Grammys throughout his career with multiple wins. Sting is also a respected actor, starring in movies such as “The Last Ship”, “Tomorrow Never Dies” and “Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels”. Sting also appeared in several Broadway shows, most notably in “The Last Ship” and Sting recently began to work on the musical score for the “The Sting”.
