Their classic line-up was Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals), and John Deacon (bass guitar). Queen’s earliest works were influenced by progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal, but the band gradually ventured into more conventional and radio-friendly territory.
Queen has recorded a total of 18 number one albums, two of which are double albums. They have also issued 22 number one singles on the UK Singles Chart, and six of these reached the top ten in the US Billboard Hot 100.
