Psalm 56 is about placing our trust in the Lord. Psalm 56:3-4 reads, “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God (I will praise His name; ) In God (I have put my trust; I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.”
This Psalm was most likely written after David had fled from King Saul. Psalm 56:1 reads, “Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee…I will praise my God while I have any being.”
This Psalm also looks forward to the coming Messiah. Psalm 56:8 says, “Thou tellest my flittings; put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?”
Psalm 56 is a Psalm of trust in God. Psalm 56:11 reads, “In God (will I praise his word,) In the Lord (I have put my trust; I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.”
