         Psalm 10:17-18 – Arise! Arise! Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the LORD! Psalm 10 is a Psalm of David. The Psalms were songs that the Jews (and believers) would sing to God and speak to Him about things that were going on in their lives. Psalms are also a type of prophetic Psalm. Psalms are a type of song that is sung to God and about Him. Psalms were written for the Jewish people by King David and other men throughout their history to speak to God and tell Him how they felt. Psalms can also be used as prophecy in some occasions, while sometimes Psalms written after an event can also be used as prophecy. Psalm 10 is written by David because it deals with God’s enemies being judged and persecuted for acting against the people of God. Psalms are prophetic in some cases where they speak about events that have or will happen, but Psalms are also just songs to praise God that have meaning behind them which helps us understand the Psalms more. Psalm 10 is about God’s enemies being judged for persecuting God’s people and how they are getting what they deserve for that persecution. Psalm 10 also speaks of being on God’s side or even turning away from God because of all the evil in this world. Psalm 10 can be used today as advice as to what we should do for those who persecute us as Christians. Psalm 10 can also be used as advice as to how we should handle evil going on in this world that tries to come between us and our relationship with God.
