About Pokémon Black Version & Pokémon White Version: Pokémon Black and Pokémon White are a pair of Pokémon games which take place in the Unova region, unlike previous Pokémon games which take place in a land based on a part of Japan. Pokémon Black and Pokémon White follow the trends set by previous games in the series by being developed for the Nintendo DS and featuring Pokémon that follow the Pokémon general formula of being cute, collectible monsters. However, Pokémon Black and Pokémon White differ from past games in many significant ways, such as having a different geographical layout—and new Pokémon to go with it.
Pokémon Black Version & Pokémon White Version are role-playing video games with adventure elements. At the start of the player’s journey, their Pokémon companion chooses to join them, and acts as their in-game avatar. The story follows a linear plot, with the player moving along the game’s world to catch Pokémon and defeat trainers. Pokémon battles are turn-based, which use mechanics introduced in Pokémon X and Y.
