THE ART OF THE PAPER MARIO SERIES Paper Mario is a product of Intelligent Systems, a video-game developer company which has been creating games for Nintendo since the 1980s. Paper Mario was initially created as Super Paper Mario by the same group, but the Paper Mario series is a combination of RPG and Paper-themed concepts. Paper mario was released in Japan on April 29th, 2001 for the Nintendo 64 console, followed by North America on February 5th, 2004. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door was originally slated to be released in September 2003 for the Gamecube, Europe in October, and other regions in the November/December time period. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door was released on October 11th, 2004 for North Americans. Paper Mario: Sticker Star was originally Paper Mario Wii (developed by Intelligent Systems) but was changed to Paper Mario 3DS (developed by Nintendo SPD Group No. 4). Paper Mario 3DS was initially announced during a Nintendo Direct at E3 on June 15th, 2011, Paper Mario 3DS was shown again in another Nintendo Direct on April 17th, 2012. Paper Mario: Sticker Star is being released for the Nintendo 3DS console on November 11th, 2012 in North America and Europe.
