Row, row, row your boat Gently down the stream Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily Life is but a dream. A nursery rhyme is a traditional poem or song for young children in Britain and many other countries. Nursery rhymes originated from stories that have been passed down from generation to generation orally, such as The 3 Billy Goats Gruff. Nursery rhymes can be traced back hundreds of years and many still exist today. Nursery rhymes are usually nonsense or at least partly nonsensical poems designed to amuse children. They are often taken from various sources, with new ones being made up or modified for particular children’s events. Nursery rhyme sheet music are also read and sung by young students to enhance their ability to study the language of music.
