This original recording featured Nat King Cole on the piano, Oscar Moore on the guitar and Johnny Miller on the drums. Nat King Cole also performed the song on his 1948 album “The Nat King Cole Story”. Nat King Cole would record the song several times throughout his career in different arrangements with varying instrumentations. Nat King Cole’s last recording of the song was in 1959; ironically, it was for an album entitled, “Long Ago and Far Away”. Nat King Cole also performed this particular number during his two Nat King Cole Show television episodes, which aired in 1956 and 1957. Nat King Cole’s contemporaries include Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee and Tony Bennett.
