Mother 3 is a Japanese role-playing video game co-written and directed by Shigesato Itoi. Mother 3 was released in Japan on April 20, 2006, for the Game Boy Advance and is part of the Mother series. The majority of Mother 3 takes place on “Nowhere Islands,” a group of islands far from the main continents in the Mother world. Mother 3 is notable for its unique style of sprite art, which differs from the previous titles in the Mother series. The music during Mother 3’s battles is also notable, not only because it is different from other Mother games’ music but also because composer Shogo Sakai composed around 100 songs for Mother 3.
Mother 3 features many themes, including environmental concerns. The game’s plot centers on a small group of heroes’ quest to confront their own demons and save their dying planet from the brink of destruction. Mother 3 received positive reviews praising the game’s emotional value, while Mother 3 ‘s soundtrack was criticized for not being as emotional as other Mother games’ soundtracks Mother 3 Mother 2 and Mother. Mother 3’s Mother 3 Mother 2 and Mother soundtracks were composed by Shogo Sakai, who was also known for Mother 1 + 2, Earthbound 64, and Mother Soundtrack: Volume 1.
