     Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958  – June 25, 2009) was an American recording artist, entertainer and businessman. The seventh child of the Jackson family, Michael made his debut on the professional music scene in 1968 as a member of The Jackson 5. He then began a solo career in 1971 while still a member of the group; he would later go on to release thirteen studio albums as a solo artist. Michael’s 1982 album Thriller is the world’s best-selling record of all time, and four of his other solo studio albums are among the world’s best-selling records: Off the Wall (1979), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and HIStory (1995). Michael has amassed an extensive catalog of songs, singles and music videos during his four-decade career; he is well known for his vocal range, which was labeled “the best voice in popular music” by Rolling Stone. Michael’s other achievements include multiple Guinness World Records—including the Most Successful Entertainer of All Time—13 Grammy Awards as well as the Grammy Legend Award and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, 26 American Music Awards—more than any other artist—including the “Artist of the Century,” 13 number-one singles in the US during his solo career – more than any other male artist in the Hot 100 era–and estimated sales of over 400 million records worldwide. Michael Jackson has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame once. Michael is also known for his support of charities including “Heal the World”, his donation of $100 million to charity, which sparked a great amount of interest when it was revealed that Michael had literally never done anything charitable for anyone, ever. Michael’s personal life and controversial issues made him a Source of Controversy throughout the world, even after his death. Michael is famous for pigging out on Burger King in bed while not wearing any pants or underwear, not owning a single pair of underwear, buying every toy from McDonalds that he saw when he was 10, Michael’s habit of child molestation, Michael’s total disregard for the rules in general; Michael was famous for counting to infinity. Michael Jackson passed away on June 25th 2009, due to heart failure brought on by acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication. His death was ruled a homicide. Michael leaves behind many sons.
