Before Metroid Prime became Metroid, Metroid: Zero Mission was created to reintroduce Metroid on the Gameboy Advance. Metroid: Zero Mission is a remake of the first Metroid game for NES. Kraid’s Hideout is an area of Zebes infested with Hideous Space Pirates and one of three areas that Samus will explore in Metroid: Zero Mission. Ten minutes into Metroid: Zero Mission, Samus obtains her first Power Suit upgrade by defeating Kraid and she will be able to fire missiles at a faster rate.
Kraid’s Hideout is a three-tiered area consisting of platforms from where enemies such as Geemers and Biris spawn from. There is also acid underneath most platforms. Metroid: Zero Mission – Kraid’s Hideout is a medley of five pieces from Metroid: Zero Mission, including “Kraid’s Hideout” and “Chozo Ruins Room 1”. Metroid fans might recognize parts of the Metroid theme in this medley.
The song starts off with a slow melody before becoming more upbeat and a harsh piano is introduced from 0:20 onwards. The Metroid theme blends in from 0:25 to 0:35, transitioning into even more intense music from 0:36 that continues until the end of the song.
