Metal Gear is a popular video game franchise created by Hideo Kojima. Metal Gears are bipedal tanks with the ability to launch nuclear weapons.

The Metal Gear Theme song was written by TAPPY, co-composed by Shiro Sagisu and Akira Yamaoka, and performed by Cynthia Harrell. The lyrics were written by Mike E. Clark.

The Metal Gear theme song was featured as Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. In Metal Gear Solid 3, it is sung as a Russian folk song called “Khorosho”. Metal Gear Solid Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance did not feature the theme song. Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake and Metal Gear Acid 1 did not have opening themes either.
