Mario Kart Wii is the sixth Mario Kart game released on a console, and the tenth overall in the Mario Kart series. Like all Mario Kart games, this one features characters from Mario’s universe racing against each other on different race tracks while using various items to hinder opponents or gain an advantage over them. It has a total of 32 courses for you to choose from. Mario has arrived back home and he’s brought along some friends to race with! Mario Kart Wii lets you share the fun with your friends in a selection of multiplayer modes; four players can race together using the Mario Kart Wii Wheel accessory, or you can compete against each other using vehicles such as karts and bikes.
As usual, Mario Kart Wii features a selection of distinctive Mario and Mario franchise related items. There are 13 new items and 14 classic items returning from previous Mario Kart games such as the Mushroom, Shells, Banana Peels, etc.
The soundtrack is once again filled with high-quality Mario music tracks composed by Kenta Nagata (who also did Mario Kart: Double Dash‼), Hajime Wakai (Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga), Shiho Fujii (Mario Party 5) and the Mario Kart Wii Staff.
The credits theme is “Credits Part 2” by Mario Kart Wii Staff. It only plays during the credits of Mario Kart Wii, like Mario Circuit’s music does for Mario Kart DS.
