Lemaitre released the music video for their song “Cut to Black” on November 6th. Lemaitre is an electronic music group based out of Oslo, Norway that focuses on making danceable indie pop songs.
The lead singer sounds almost like a robot in this song (or at least it’s supposed to be). Their voices are auto-tuned to create a robotic sound similar to Daft Punk. While Lemaitre are not the first musicians to do this type of vocals, they may be the most successful in doing it right. Lemaitre is an electronic band that has taken their songwriting skills and blended them with incredible vocals to bring you “Cut To Black”. Lemaitre has been around since 2012, and this song is from their debut album “Relativity”, which was released in March 2013. Lemaitre was nominated for a Norwegian Grammys in the categories of best dance record and newcomer of the year in 2014. Lemaitre consists of Ketil Jansen on vocals and keyboards, Gard Nilsen on guitar, and Ernst-Wiggo Sandbakk on drums. Lemaitre has toured with artists like Ellie Goulding and Two Door Cinema Club in the past, helping them gain more popularity. Lemaitre was originally written by Jansen in 2009 under the name of Lemaitre when he was working at a record label named Lemaitre Ltd. Lemaitre Ltd was closed down in May 2012, which led Lemaitre to become a band and change the name from Lemaitre to Lemaitre.
