The LeAnn Rimes song “Can’t Fight the Moonlight” is a fun, up-tempo country tune that was originally released in 2001 on LeAnn’s album, I Need You. The song quickly became a hit and LeAnn began performing it live. In 2002, LeAnn re-recorded the song for the movie Coyote Ugly, with LeAnn again performing the song in the movie. LeAnn is still performing “Can’t Fight The Moonlight” in concert, but has also become known for her beautiful rendition of the classic ballad, “How Do I Live”, which LeAnn performs acoustically at many of LeAnn’s concerts.
Song Lyrics: LeAnn Rimes – Can’t Fight The Moonlight
I can feel your heart beat next to mine
We’re lying here together, but you seem so far away. I remember what you said last night.
You’ve got the music in you, who needs sleep?
Well my body remembers every move you make and it won’t let me close my eyes.
Can’t fight the moonlight, though I’m trying to hide that I need you here with me, just holding me close.
Can’t fight the moonlight. Something inside of me won’t let you go.
You’ve got this look in your eye like there’s no one else in sight
I know that it’s only just you and me, so talk to me softly. Don’t whisper too loud ’cause my heart’s beating out of my chest
Can’t fight the moonlight, though I’m trying to hide that I need you here with me, just holding me close.
Can’t fight the moonlight. Something inside of me won’t let you go.
I’m falling into the sky, you carry me through this stormy weather, I’m falling like a sparrow, caught in the middle of a war.
