It’s Kirby’s 25th Anniversary, and to celebrate this notable milestone for the Kirby Franchise, I have decided to write a music arrangement for one Kirby song. This Kirby song is Float Islands from Kirby’s Dream Land , which was released back in 1992, the same year as Kirby was originally introduced.
Kirby’s Dream Land was first released on the Game Boy and Kirby has been around for 25 years. Kirby’s Dream Land is a platformer that was released on Kirby’s first portable console; it is also Kirby’s debut game. His goal is to travel across Dream Land as he eats as much as possible as well as avoiding King Dedede (the main antagonist of Kirby). Kirby’s Dream Land was Kirby’s first game and it saw Kirby through several console generations such as his debut on the Game Boy to Kirby Super Star on the SNES. Kirby himself has grown in popularity since his debut and continues to be a popular Nintendo franchise up to this day, with Kirby: Planet Robobot only released earlier this year.
Kirby’s Dream Land was Kirby’s first adventure and Float Islands is Kirby’s first level. Float Islands has Kirby fighting Waddle Dee as the main enemy for this level; other enemies include Waddle Doo, who shoots lasers and Gordo (a spike ball). The boss of this area is Mr. Tick Tock: a living cuckoo clock. Kirby’s two animal friends Rick the Hamster and Kine the Fish also make their debut in Kirby’s Dream Land . Float Islands is Kirby’s first level and Kirby: Planet Robobot is Kirby’s latest adventure (excluding virtual console and mobile games).
Finally, Kirby: Planet Robobot recently released to celebrate Kirby’s 25th Anniversary. Kirby: Planet Robobot was a Kirby game released on the Nintendo 3DS. Kirby also appears as a fighter in Super Smash Bros , Kirby’s Dream Land was Kirby’s debut and Float Islands is Kirby’s first level from Kirby’s Dream Land . The 25th anniversary of Kirby has been celebrated by Nintendo all year long, including Kirby: Planet Robobot and Kirby Star Allies releasing not too long ago.
