Kirby Air Ride – Legendary Air Ride Machine

Kirby’s Air Ride is a Kirby themed racing game that was released for the Kirby series’ 10th anniversary. The title originated from Kirby’s desire to ride more vehicles, and Sakurai’s wish to create a Kirby version of Mario Kart: Double Dash!! . The game features Kirby characters riding on top of different vehicles in race tracks themed after Kirby franchises.

Kirby’s Air Ride was announced in November 2003, in the Japanese magazine Nintendo Dream . The game went unreleased in Japan due to poor reception of Kirby’s Air Ride , where the game failed to even sell 100,000 copies when it was released on November 19th, 2003. Kirby’s Air Ride was later released in North America on February 10, 2004, where Kirby’s Air Ride sold 400,000 copies. Kirby’s Air Ride was not released to Japan until June 24th, 2014, for the Wii U Virtual Console . The game is compatible with the Kirby 3D Rumble and Kirby Fighters Deluxe .
