Janet composed the song Again for the 1997 film Poetic Justice , where it was featured on her third studio album, The Velvet Rope . It was released as a single in 1998 with remixes created by English electronic music group All Seeing I . Janet’s song Again was produced by Janet Jackson, Jimmy Jam , Terry Lewis and René Elizondo, Jr. for Janet’s third studio Janet’s album The Velvet Rope . Janet said the song is about friendship, saying “It feels good to have a friend that you can rely on that helps you through your difficult times”.

Janet’s song Again features Janet with a casual and light tone singing about having a friend that she can lean on during hard times. Janet sings, “And I know you will be there to show me how to live” meaning Janet knows her friend will help Janet through the struggle of life.

Janet was nominated for awards including Grammy Awards and American Music Awards. Janet won countless awards, including the American Music Award for Janet Favorite Soul/R&B Female Artist in 1999 and Janet Janet Janet Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist in 2000.

Janet’s music video for her single Again was directed by Matthew Rolston . The video takes place during a late night summer barbecue party where Janet is seen enjoying herself.
