Ilene Woods was born in North Adams, Massachusetts. Ilene’s family all played music, and Ilene began singing when she was only three years old! Ilene won a contest in Boston to sing on the radio when she was just sixteen. Ilene had her own local radio show and sang with Bob Crosby’s band for about thirty minutes. Ilene was a very talented singer and actress before she got the chance to be Cinderella in the Disney classic. Ilene was Walt Disney’s first choice for “Cinderella”. Ilene auditioned for this part, Ilene won it from many other girls who were auditioning. Ilene Woods is very underrated as an actress because her acting is really great. Ilene was also in “The Further Adventures of the Scarecrow and the Tinman”. Ilene is now retired from acting.
