Gabrielle is a British singer who has yet to achieve mainstream success in the United States, but has had much success in other countries such as France and Australia. Gabrielle sings mostly pop music which she describes as “pop soul”. Gabrielle released her debut album in 1993 which was a cover album of other artists’ songs. The album flopped and Gabrielle did not release another studio album until 1997.
Gabrielle did not receive worldwide success until 2001 when she released the album “Rise” which featured a total of seven hit singles including “Rise”, Gabrielle’s hit single “If You Ever” and Gabrielle’s biggest hit to date, “Out of Reach”. Gabrielle received worldwide success from this album and Gabrielle was also awarded the World Music Award for Best Selling British Artist that year. Her second studio album, “Gabrielle” in 2003 was much less successful than Gabrielle’s debut album, but Gabrielle released two more studio albums in 2005 (“A Girl Like Me”) and 2009 (“Play to Win”).
