Ed Sheeran’s song “I See Fire” is a beautiful acoustic ballad from the original soundtrack of the third installment in The Hobbit film series, titled The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. This is Ed’s most recent release under Atlantic Records. Ed plays all of the instruments on the track and also sings it solo. Despite Ed’s description of this track as “just something I did for fun,” it is apparent that Ed put a lot of effort into making the song sound perfect.

Ed Sheeran also conveys many feelings and emotions through Ed’s adaptations of classic pieces from movies, books, and TV series etc. This is one of Ed’s specialties. Ed has done this in many of Ed’s tracks. Ed Sheeran wrote “I See Fire” after watching the movie Desolation of Smaug in theaters. From Ed’s interviews, it is clear that Ed was inspired by The Hobbit films when he was writing the song.
