Sheet music (MIDI): Donkey Kong 64 – Donkey Kong Island (Frantic Factory) Piano Sheet Music Donkey Kong 64 is a game for the Nintendo 64 console, developed by Rare and released in 1999. It is the sequel to Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest (1995), Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble! (1996), Donkey Kong Land 2 (1997) and Donkey Kong Land III (1997). Donkey Kong 64 has nine playable characters, each with their own unique abilities and movesets. Donkey Kong is one of those nine playable characters in Donkey Kong 64. Like all other Donkey Kong games, Donkey Kong (64) may be played with two players simultaneously. In the game, Donkey Kong must rescue his kidnapped friends from the clutches of K. Rool and the Kremlings. Donkey Kong 64 follows Donkey Kong’s first leading role in Donkey Kong Country (1994) and Donkey Kong Land (1995). Donkey Kong is rescued by Diddy Kong, Lanky Kong, Tiny Kong, and Chunky Kong in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Quest (1995), Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble (1996), Donkey Kong Land 2 (1997), Donkey Kong Country Returns (2010) and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (2014). Donkey Kong also makes a cameo appearance in Star Fox 64/3D. Donkey Kong is the first playable character that joins Fox McCloud in his journey to save the Lylat System. Donkey Kong’s signature accessory, the Coconut Barrel, is introduced in Donkey Kong 64. Donkey Kong holds a very special place in Donkey Kong history and video game culture. He has been playable in well over 100 games since his debut appearance on the Donkey Kong arcade cabinet (1981). Donkey Kong was first created by Shigeru Miyamoto, Donkey Kong’s lead designer and the father of Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Super Mario Bros. Donkey Kong appeared in Donkey Kong (1981), Donkey Kong Jr. (1982), Donkey Kong 3 (1983), DK (Donkey Kong 64) + Lanky (1999), Diddy Kong Racing DS/Tracks (2007) and Donkey Kong Country Returns (2010). Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr. appeared in Donkey Kong Hockey (1994), Diddy Kong Racing DS/Tracks (2007), Donkey Kong Barrel Blast (2007) and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (2014). Donkey Kong’s latest adventure, Mario vs Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars was just released on March 5th, 2015 (Wii U and 3DS). Donkey Kong was Super Smash Bros. Donkey Kong is a balanced character with immense power, but relatively slow speed. Donkey Kong’s signature special move in the Super Smash Bros. series is Donkey Punch (Smash B: Regular Attack Button). Donkey Kong jumps upward and delivers a fierce punch when he comes back down to the ground. Donkey Kong is a playable character in Donkey Kong 64, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Quest (1995), Donkey Kong Land 2 (1997) and Donkey Kong Land III (1997). His signature weapon in Donkey Kong 64 is the Coconut Gun while he uses a Coconut Shooter in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Quest.
