Background Information: Chrono Trigger is a role-playing video game produced and published by Square in Japan for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995. Chrono Trigger was then translated and published in North America and Europe in 1996 and was released on the PlayStation and PlayStation Vita platforms in 2011 and 2013 respectively. Chrono Trigger became available to download via the Wii Virtual Console service in 2009. Chrono Trigger was later released as one of twenty-one titles in the Super NES Classic Edition (known as the SNES Mini outside Japan) on September 29, 2017.

Chrono Trigger follows a group of adventurers who travel through time to prevent a global catastrophe. Chrono Trigger received universal acclaim upon release, review aggregator website Metacritic reports an average score of 95 out of 100, making Chrono Trigger one of the highest-rated video games ever. Chrono Trigger is widely regarded as a landmark title and it is frequently cited as among the greatest video games of all time. Chrono Trigger was the third best selling game on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and was the second best selling game of 1995. Chrono Trigger was later re-released on the PlayStation, PlayStation Network, Windows Phone and iOS/Android devices. Chrono Trigger has also been ported to iDevices such as the iPod Touch and iPhone.
