Christina Maria Aguilera (born December 18, 1980) is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Born in Staten Island, New York and raised in Rochester and Wexford, Pennsylvania she appeared on the television series Star Search and The Mickey Mouse Club in her early years. She came to prominence following her debut album Christina Aguilera which was released in 1999 and went on to become one of the most successful albums of all time. She became a role model for children with her vocal talent while promoting a wholesome persona. When her contract with RCA Records ended in 2001 Christina Aguilera, Robb Boldt and Guy Roche formed a new management team and Christina’s second album, Stripped , was released in 2002. She is considered one of the most influential voices of the 2000 decade.
