“Think Twice” (1995) is Celine Dion’s second English language single and the first from her third album, “The Colour of My Love”. It was released on 21 October 1995 as a follow-up to Celine’s previous English song “Only One Road”, which reached number 5 in Canada. While it did not match its predecessor’s chart success (it reached number 9 in Canada) “Think Twice” still remains Celine’s highest-charting single to date, along with her two subsequent singles from the album (“The Power of Love” and ” River Deep – Mountain High”), on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was also Celine’s first international hit reaching number 6 in the United Kingdom, Celine’s highest to date there. In Australia, “Think Twice” became Celine’s first top ten single (#8), but was kept from reaching Celine’s highest position in that country (so far) by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day”. Celine also performed a multilingual version of “Think Twice” which Celine co-wrote in Italian, French and Spanish for her 1996 album “D’eux”.
Céline Dion recorded a duet with Barbra Streisand for Celine’s 2007 greatest hits album My Love: Essential Collection. Céline and Barbra also performed this song live during Celine’s CBS TV special Celine. Céline Dion has also performed “Think Twice” on her 2003-2005 Taking Chances World Tour, 2007-2008 Taking Chances World Tour and Celine: Through the Eyes of the World concerts, 2009-2010 Taking Chances World Tour, and Celine/A New Day… Live in Las Vegas concerts, Celine… une seule fois / Live 2013, Céline: Live in Las Vegas – 2014 and Celine… une seule fois 2015.
“Think Twice” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at number 48 on 7 December 1995, becoming Celine’s first entry on that chart. It reached its peak position of number 6 on 26 January 1996. In addition, “Think Twice” reached the top ten on the Adult Contemporary chart (number 9), Hot Dance Club Play (number 8), and Top 40 Mainstream chart (number 7).
