B’t X (ビート・エックス) is a Japanese manga series written by Yōsuke Kuroda and illustrated by Masakazu Katsura. It was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1988 to 1990, with the chapters collected into five tankōbon volumes by Shueisha. An anime OVA was released in 1993, and a B’t X Neo TV series aired from October 2003 to February 2004.
As of 2012, B’t-X has been republished in four B’t-X Complete Bunko editions containing volumes 1 to 4, which were collected by Shueisha on July 29, 2006. In addition, B’t-X Neo Bunko was published on January 30, 2012 and B’t-X Bunko Complete Edition has been published on August 29, 2014.
The B’t X TV series adopts a different storyline from the original manga and the OVA, although certain events happen in the same order. The B’t X Neo TV series is a complete re-imagining of B’t X, taking place 100 years after the B’t X OVA.
