Beethoven’s 5th Symphony is among the most widely recognized pieces of music ever written. Beethoven was born in Germany and lived from 1770 to 1827. He remains one of the greatest musical talents that has ever lived, which makes his life story even more compelling.
Beethoven began studying music at a young age and showed a natural ability for it. Beethoven’s father, however, wanted him to become a lawyer and Beethoven trained in this area from the age of 11 up until he was 16. Beethoven eventually realized that his path lay with music and so he began to further his knowledge around this time. Beethoven was largely self taught as he learned to play instruments such as the harpsichord, piano and violin. Beethoven’s first big break in music came when Beethoven was discovered by a nobleman named Lichnowsky and Beethoven subsequently became his pupil. Beethoven dedicated many of his compositions to him.
