Beethoven – Ecossaises WoO 83 Piano Sheet Music

Beethoven composed the first set of Ecossaises WoO 83 in 1803. He wrote a second set in 1815. Beethoven was never very strong, and his music is often imbued with a spirit of robustness that reflects this frail physique. Beethoven’s works for solo piano are particularly well known and loved: they include three sonatas, five concertos and the Diabelli Variations. Beethoven was an important transitional figure in classical music because his compositions helped to bridge the gap between the Classical and Romantic periods. Beethoven’s style evolved through several stages during his lifetime; he is usually categorized into three distinct periods: early (Classical), middle (Heroic), and late (Bold). Beethoven’s work was of great significance to later composers including Liszt, who praised Beethoven as “Bonaparte of the musical art” for his piano works.
