Welder is the boss of Banjo-Tooie, built by Gruntilda for one purpose; to destroy Banjo and Kazooie. It serves as a second act mid-boss, similar to Clanker in Banjo-Kazooie. Weldar is encountered in the basement of Banjoland. To defeat Welder, Banjo and Kazooie must shoot disks at Weldar’s face while avoiding his flamethrower-style attack.
Weldar’s attack pattern is somewhat randomized; he will randomly launch fireballs depending on Banjo and Kazooie’s position, but not his. Banjo and Kazooie are able to shoot Weldar by using the Breegull Blaster, found in Banjoland.
During the 1st phase of Banjo-Tooie, Welder will attach Banjo and Kazooie’s vehicle with his claw, immobilizing them while Welder blasts fireballs at them. Banjo and Kazooie must find the hatch on Banjoland to escape. After Banjo and Kazooie break out of Banjoland, Welder will start shooting fireballs at Banjo and Kazooie’s current position. Banjo or Kazooie must shoot Weldar’s face with Breegull Blaster before he gets too close. Banjo and Kazooie must shoot disks at his face while avoiding his flamethrower-style attack until Weldar is defeated.
