Today, Banjo-Kazooie veterans might remember the “Nabnuts’ House” area in Click Clock Wood as one of those annoying areas you just want to get through as fast as possible. However, this peaceful and beautiful part of Banjo’s world hides a very sad and tragic story: This is where Banjo’s dear friends Banjo the Bear and Kazooie the Breegull have been living for a long time… But they were never meant to be there.

As far as we know Banjo didn’t own a house at the time Banjo-Kazooie started. Banjo’s only home was the house of his dear friend Bottles near Spiral Mountain, where Banjo would visit him very often when he wasn’t adventuring with Kazooie. We also know that in Banjo-Tooie Banjo has a treehouse in Gobi’s Valley… So Banjo was already living in a house before Banjo-Kazooie began. Banjo and Kazooie were living at Banjo’s House (Spiral Mountain) together and doing great as usual… Until Gruntilda came back to Spiral Mountain during Banjo-Tooie and destroyed Banjo’s House.
The only thing Banjo and Kazooie could do was run away from Banjo’s House. And this is how Banjo and Kazooie ended up at Nabnuts’ House in Click Clock Wood where they had been living ever since… But Banjo never wanted to live there either.
Banjo didn’t make a house for Banjo and Kazooie to live in because Banjo was too sad about Banjo’s House being destroyed to make another house. Banjo and Kazooie lived at Nabnuts’ House for a very long time without Banjo making a new house, but eventually Banjo made plans for Banjo and Kazooie’s New House that we see near the end of Banjo-Kazooie.
