Buried Alive by Avenged Sevenfold is a single from Avenged Sevenfold’s third album entitled City of Evil. It was released on June 7, 2005. The single reached #92 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and spent a total of fifteen weeks on the chart. It was Avenged Sevenfold’s first hit single, as Waking The Fallen did not yield any mainstream success.
The song itself is a short piano piece to which Avenged Sevenfold has added drums, vocals and bass. The music style bears resemblance to Chopin’s funeral march in that it features a repetitive drum beat, slow tempo and light piano. Avenged Sevenfold uses the repetitive drum beat to build up their sound, which they use to build an intense crescendo near the end of the song.
