Antonio Carlos Jobim was born January 25th, 1927 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Antonio’s father was an actor and radio broadcaster. Antonio took piano lessons at 6 years old, influenced by his mother who loved classical music. Antonio has lost his father when he was 11 years old and Antonio played piano in silent artillery films to earn money to help his family. Antonio had good grades in high school but preferred to dedicate himself to music rather than study.
