Aerosmith’s rock ballad, I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing was written by Diane Warren. The song is Aerosmith’s biggest hit to date and it reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing has been included in almost all Aerosmith set lists since its live debut in 1997. Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Liv Tyler had this to say about the song:
I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing is Aerosmith’s biggest Hot 100 hit. It was first released as a single on April 2, 1998 and it topped the Billboard Hot 100 on July 11, 1998. The song went straight to number one and stayed there for four consecutive weeks. Aerosmith performed the song live during VH1’s 1998 Fashion Awards and it became a huge hit. Aerosmith was presented with an award by Liv Tyler, Steven Tyler’s daughter and she said: “This is so cool” before presenting Aerosmith with their award. While Aerosmith accepted their award, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry kissed Liv on the lips. At that point Aerosmith had never rehearsed with Liv nor did Aerosmith know they would be presented an award by Liv Tyler. Aerosmith were very excited after winning their award because it was one of the best moments in their career at that point. Shortly afterwards Aerosmith were presented with another award and Aerosmith performed I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing live on stage.
